Barefoot, Pregnant, in a Hong Kong Kitchen

When this journey to Hong Kong began, I was eight months pregnant with our fifth child. Roy and I tossed around the idea of me blogging. The title we settled on was Barefoot, Pregnant, in the Kitchen. To some that title might be offensive or submissive. To me, it is my vocation—both joy and burden. I've gone days barefoot since my husband was called to serve Trinity Lutheran in Livingston, TX and still go barefoot as he serves the Office of International Mission of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod during network support building. I've also been pregnant each year since moving south to Texas. And, I've loved my family and shared with friends through our kitchen. We never did get around to setting up my blog. And now I see, the title would have had to change as my kitchen will sooner than later (according to the Lord's timing) be in Hong Kong. Will I go days barefoot there? I hope so! I look forward to spending days just at home, setting up our new home and making memories with the most important possessions I have been given, my children. Will I be pregnant? I don't know, only the Lord blesses a man and wife with children. Will I be in the kitchen? Surely, we have to eat! And that is one way I can show my family multiple times a day that I love them. So if I ever do start blogging the title will have to be Barefoot, Pregnant, in a Hong Kong Kitchen.
